AES Ltd dazzles Stratford with Christmas lights switch on

The lights display in Stratford over the Christmas period is considered to be one of the finest in the UK, AES, member of the Coventry and Warwickshire Aerospace Forum (CWAF) have been producing this magnificent display for the 5th year running.

It is presided over by a team of volunteers and funded by generous grants from the Town Trust and the Town Council and by individual donations from Businesses, the residents and the general public.  The display is controlled with a radio signal at the end of the Mayor’s countdown. AES designed and programmed wireless modules that are connected to a transmitter, the modules switch on the lights at both ends of the day using real time clocks. Nigel Maris, Managing Director of AES said:

“It’s always a relief when the whole town centre covering a number of Stratford’s streets come on simultaneously”.

Engineering firm upgrades its lighting and heating to go green

The company has received a £47k grant provided by the Coventry and Warwickshire Green Business Programme which is partly funded by the ERDF and is being delivered by Coventry City Council, towards making energy efficiency savings.  The manufacturing company of ultra-high precision turned and milled components has been based in the building since the 1980’s and areas of it were in need of updating.  Kevan Kane, Managing Director of Technoset decided to invest £117k in energy efficient measures and was successful in obtaining the Green Business Grant towards this.
